Can you copy trade on TradeLocker, and what are the real limits?
TradeLocker has no Expert Advisors, so copying has to come from outside the platform. Here is what is actually possible, and what is not.
Short answer: yes, but never from inside TradeLocker. The platform has no Expert Advisors, so every form of automation has to be driven from outside through its official API. Once you understand that one constraint, everything else about copying to TradeLocker follows from it.
Why TradeLocker cannot copy trades by itself
TradeLocker runs in a browser. There is no MQL4 or MQL5 runtime inside it, which means there is nowhere to install an Expert Advisor. On MetaTrader, a copier is simply an EA sitting on a chart; on TradeLocker there is no equivalent place to put one.
What TradeLocker does have is an official API. That is the door. A program running somewhere else — in practice, on the same PC or VPS as your MetaTrader terminal — can authenticate to a TradeLocker account and place, modify and close orders on it. The copying logic lives outside the platform and reaches in.
What that means in practice
| You want to | Possible? | How |
|---|---|---|
| Copy your MT4/MT5 trades to TradeLocker | Yes | A bridge program using the official API |
| Run an EA on TradeLocker | No | No MQL runtime exists in the platform |
| Copy TradeLocker trades back to MetaTrader | Not in our tool | The bridge is one-directional by design |
| Copy to several TradeLocker accounts | Yes | One bridge instance per account, each in its own folder |
What gets copied, and what does not
Worth being exact, because a copier that quietly skips something is worse than one that says so.
Copied: market positions when they open, closes, and stop-loss or take-profit changes made on the master.
Not copied in this version: pending orders and partial closes. They are written to the log and skipped rather than approximated. If your strategy depends on pending orders reaching TradeLocker, this is a real limitation and you should know it before you rely on it.
The speed question, answered honestly
MetaTrader-to-MetaTrader copying on one machine is under ten milliseconds because nothing leaves the computer. Copying to TradeLocker is an API call across the internet, so a realistic figure is 100 to 500 milliseconds depending on where you and the servers are.
For most strategies that difference is irrelevant. For a scalping strategy that lives and dies on the first tick, it is not, and no bridge to a browser platform will change that.
Prop firms and TradeLocker
A lot of people arrive at this question because their prop firm uses TradeLocker while they trade on MetaTrader. Whether you may copy into a funded account is a question about your firm's rules, not about the platform or the software. Most firms are relaxed about copying between your own accounts and strict about copying somebody else's, or about running identical trades across several of their accounts. Read the rulebook rather than a forum post.
Setting it up
If you already run the CopyConnectFX copier on MetaTrader, the TradeLocker side is a small Windows program you put beside it — it reads the same local trade feed your Sender EA already writes, so MetaTrader needs nothing new. It is free, with no licence key.
The full walkthrough lives on the MT4 to TradeLocker copier page, which covers the setup, the symbol mapping you will probably need, and the troubleshooting.

Trading foreign exchange and CFDs carries a high risk of losing money. Copying moves someone's decisions onto another account faster than you can by hand; it does not make a losing strategy profitable. Test on a demo account first.
Frequently asked questions
Can you copy trade on TradeLocker?+
Yes, but not from inside TradeLocker itself. The platform has no Expert Advisors and no built-in copier, so the copying has to be driven from outside through TradeLocker's official API. A program running beside your MetaTrader terminal reads your trades and places the matching order on the TradeLocker account through that API.
Does TradeLocker support Expert Advisors?+
No. TradeLocker runs in a browser and has no MQL4 or MQL5 runtime, so an EA cannot be installed on it the way it can on MetaTrader. This is the single fact that decides how copying to TradeLocker has to work: anything automated must come from outside the platform.
Is copying to TradeLocker allowed by prop firms?+
That depends entirely on the firm, not on the platform. Many firms allow copying between your own accounts and restrict copying another person's trades or running the same trades across several of their accounts. The only answer that counts is in your firm's own rulebook.
What cannot be copied to TradeLocker?+
Pending orders and partial closes are not copied in the current version of our bridge — they are logged and skipped rather than guessed at. Market positions, closes and stop-loss or take-profit changes are copied. Being specific about this matters more than claiming everything works.
How fast is copying to TradeLocker?+
Slower than MetaTrader-to-MetaTrader copying, and the reason is physical rather than a limitation of any software. A local MT-to-MT copy never leaves your machine. A TradeLocker copy is an API call over the internet to TradeLocker's servers, so expect roughly 100 to 500 milliseconds.
